Potentially deadly substitution of nuts for spices have been found in products sold in the UK and Europe. The substitution cases identified so far relate to undeclared traces of almond protein in batches of paprika used in the products. The supplier is Santa Maria the products concerned are: fajita, tikka masala, grill, chicken, steak-house and taco spice. Santa Maria issued a statement advising any of its customers with a nut allergy to return products.
